Notre Dame has finally announced their spring practice schedule, but with one notable exception. Details for the spring “Blue -Gold” game, “will be provided in the near future”.
The Irish will begin their 15 practice Spring on Saturday March 27. Through the Month of April Brian Kelly’s 12th Irish team will follow a three times per week, Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday schedule. All practices will be closed to the public and the media. Notre Dame did announce 10 zoom media availabilities with Brian Kelly, players and some assistants. The first zoom conference will take place after the March 27 initial practice and will feature Kelly and “4 players.” Notable among the assistants scheduled to appear is new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman who will face the media on April 21.
It is expected that the Blue Gold game will be played on Saturday, May 1. The press release does indicate that fans may well be in the stands for the game as the announcement also refers to the future release of, “ticket information”, it is unclear if tickets will be available for purchase beyond the faculty, staff, students and player families that were able to attend games last Fall.
Irish Illustrated is reporting that the game will be televised exclusively on Peacock TV, a streaming service owned by NBCUniversal. The telecast will be accessible, free of charge.
